“Whoosh!” sees Deep Purple for the third time joining forces with producer Bob Ezrin, who invited the band to Nashville to write and record new songs. Together they created the most versatile album in their collaboration.

Deep Purple “stretched out in all directions” without any limitation, letting their creativity go. “Deep Purple is putting the Deep back into Purple” was the half-joking motto in the studio after the first songs made it clear that Ezrin and Purple were on their path to creating an album pushing the boundaries of time, while voicing their resentment about the current situation of the world and addressing all generations.

In recent years, Deep Purple has progressively moved into new areas, piquing the interest of fans who were not born when the mighty Purple machine ruled the music world. Alt-pop icon Gus Dapperton’s vast and ambitious album Henge builds a new world – tugging the listeners between night and day, socializing and solitude. With  nearly 2 billion collective streams across his career – the Warwick, NY native constructed the album with the concept of entering an underworld as the sun goes down and trying to get home before dawn—or risk being stuck in a time loop. Sonically the album delivers a contemporary eclectic sprawl, at times landing between 80’s new-wave and 70’s funk. In 2017, the mighty BLUE ÖYSTER CULT celebrated their 45th Anniversary with a run of festival and headline dates across the UK and Europe. The band's appearance in London at the O2 INDIGO at the Stone Free Festival on June 17th started with a unique performance of BOC's first album in its entirety, a celebration of the 45th anniversary of it’s release.

Hailing from New York, Blue Öyster Cult have garnered huge critical acclaim and a dedicated fanbase built on tracks like ‘(Don’t Fear) The Reaper’, ‘Godzilla,’ & ‘Burning For You’ along with an ongoing awesome live show over the decades.

This year marks the 30th Anniversary of Bossanova, Pixies third studio album. Having so successfully helmed their platinum-selling second album Doolittle, the band continued to work with Gil Norton, this time choosing to record in Los Angeles over their native Boston (“Blown Away”, however, was recorded during a European tour in 1989 at the Hansa Tonstudio in Berlin). Their third album in as many years, it was a particularly fertile time for the band with Kim Deal also starting to have success with The Breeders, who released their debut album Pod just a few months prior. Featuring the singles “Allison” (a tribute to jazz and blues pianist Mose Allison), “Dig For Fire” and “Velouria”, plus the first cover to feature on one of their albums (“Cecilia Ann”, originally by The Surftones), Bossanova showed a new, less primal side to the band, with surf and space rock now more prevalent. Lyrically too, Black Francis is even more cryptic with a recurring sci-fi theme throughout, which in turn influenced Vaughan Oliver’s classic planet design for the sleeve.

To mark its third decade, 4AD are reissuing the album as a limited pressing on red vinyl with the original 16-page booklet being reinserted, having previously only been available in the UK with the initial pressing of the LP back in 1990.

To commemorate the 20th Anniversary of his debut album, A New Day Yesterday, Joe Bonamassa is releasing a newly re-mixed and re-recorded version called, A New Day Now. Joe re-sang all the vocals over and played new guitar tracks on some songs too. Kevin Shirley remixed the album. This version includes 3 bonus tracks produced by Stevie Van Zandt (written by Stevie and Joe) which were demos from the 90's that never made it on to any records. Never heard before vintage Joe!
